Importing Data into Aries

NOTE: ARIES RELEASE 2003.11, RELEASED IN JULY 2004, NOW IMPORTS DRILLINGINFO'S .DRI PRODUCTION DATA FORMAT.

Using a Drillinginfo *.csv file with Aries:

  1. Download a *.csv file.

  1. Go into Excel and open your *.csv file.  Delete the first 3 rows of header information.

  1. Copy the Propnum from Aries that corresponds to the production information and paste into Column A all the way down the column.  If you don’t have a Propnum already you can leave this blank, or use the LeaseID #, etc.

  1. Format the date column as Custom as mm/dd/yyyy.

  1. Delete column E.

  1. Save as a *.csv file.

  1. On your hard drive you should have an Aries utility file named Flatfile.exe:

*A note of caution.  If you go into the Product table and the data is not there, check the *.csv file and make sure your dates are saved as Custom mm/dd/yyyy.  The formatting is not always saved and this is often the reason the data does not successfully import.
