MyInfo – Tag an Element

The “Tag an Element” Tool is located in the MyInfo MapTools menu on the map page. Select this tool if you would like to tag (enter your own proprietary data) a DI element such as a well spot or a User Point that you have entered. After you click the “Tag an Element” tool, click the point you would like to tag.

When you click the point (element) you would like to tag on the map, the View/Edit Tags Tool will appear.

On the View/Edit Tag Tool you will select a template in order to populate the fields below with the appropriate names, categories, and units, or you may choose to go to the Edit/Create Template Tool in order to create a new template. A third option is to just enter the names, categories, and units manually along with the values. If you would like to tag the well with a file simply select the browse button for that tag. If you upload a file this will serve as the value for the tag. NOTE: Do not enter a value and upload a file simultaneously or the value you enter will be overwritten by the file. After you have filled out all the necessary fields and selected your categories and units, hit the submit button to tag the element.

Note on Uploading: If you upload a file called compressor.gif as the value for a tag, the file will be uploaded to our secure file server and a hyperlink will be created as the value portion of the tag. The hyperlink will appear as the path to our fileserver directory + 20 randomly generated characters + your file name. Therefore when searching for that value using the MyInfo Tag Criteria section of a search wizard criteria page you would want to enter %compressor.gif in the text value field.  Note: The % sign, which is our wild card character, must be placed in front of the file name because the system will automatically append additional data to the beginning of the original file name.
