A Drillinginfo PrePermit is an advanced notice that a well might be permitted. Drillinginfo creates this data based on a variety of public and non-public (scouting) data. A PrePermit is not guaranteed to become a permit, and may precede an actually permit by one day, many days, or even weeks. Drillinginfo is in the process of collecting statistics to determine, in an average sense, how our PrePermits predict actual permitting activity.
