The DrillingInfo Virtual Scout allows you to define an area of interest, monitor activity within that area and receive automatic activity updates for that area via email. Every DrillingInfo account receives 50 Virtual Scout Areas of Interest.
You can set up an Area of Interest based on the following options:
County or Parish
Abstract or Section
API #
Lease ID, Gas ID or LUW Code
Operator
Lat/Long Point
Lat/Long Line or Polygon
Your Virtual Scout will monitor the following types of activity:
Permits
Completions
Pre-Permits (TX & CO)
Leases
Well Events (TX & LA)
Pluggings (TX, OK, NM, LA)
Regulatory Applications (OK )
Mineral for Lease
Prospects for Sale
Producing Properties for Sale
Setting up an AOI
Please follow the steps below to set up an AOI. This example is for a county-based AOI.
Go to the My DI tab
Click the Virtual Scout link
Click the Add Area of Interest link
Select the County/Parish choice
Click NEXT
Enter a description or name for your AOI
Select the state
Select the County or Parish
Choose the monitoring area under Search Area
Choose an Initial Search Period - 30, 60, 90 or 180 days. This will populate your AOI with recent activity
If you would like to receive email notification about new activity in your Virtual Scout check the Email Notification option. You will receive a single Virtual Scout email per day only when activity occurs within your Virtual Scout
Select the items you would like to monitor in your AOI
Click FINISH
After a few moments your screen should refresh and take you back to the AOI Hub Page where you can now access your Virtual Scout by clicking on the Description or View link.
Accessing an AOI
To access an AOI simply click either the Description link or the View link.
Once inside your AOI you may view the activity by clicking on each tab. If there is only a single type of activity in the AOI you will only have a single tab.
To display the items in your AOI on a map simply select items using the individual checkboxes or click the Check All button and then click the Map button. This will display the selected items on a map with your AOI shown in pink.
In order to get additional information on items in your AOI you can click on the API link or other hyperlink listed in the table.
