You can search for wells with plugging data. (Plugging data is only available in TX, LA, NM, and OK at this time.) Plugging data may include two kinds of Events: the Intent (Application) to Plug (Texas Only) and the Plugging Report (TX, OK, & NM).
When the Drillinginfo system records an Intent to Plug, the status of the well does not change. When the system records an Plugging Report, the status will change. See below. The availability of plugging data depends on the state. See Data Availability.
The date associated with the Event depends on the Event:

Intent (Application) to Plug uses the estimated plug date, or the application expiration date if no estimated date exists. |

Plugging Report. The actual date the well was plugged.

Search Parameters
Required Parameters
Time Period: This corresponds to the date of the actual plugging or the estimated date in the case of a Intent To Plug. It is required unless you specify an API number

Optional Parameters
Location information: County and optional Abstract or Section/Township/Range
Operator: Name or Number (only for Intent to Plug in Texas)
Depth: The total depth of the well. For permitted wells, this may be 0
Event Type: You can choose either or both Intent to Plug and/or Plugging Report
Current Status: This is the current status of the well. See below.
Selectable Columns Tips: Here you have the option to choose additional data elements that will be returned as columns in table view.

You can restrict the search to specific CURRENT well statuses.
Example 1: lets say you want to search, in Texas, for all Oil wells plugged after 3/1/2002. In the Search Wizard, choose a status of Plugged Oil Well and a date 3/1/2002 (leave the second date field empty signifying it runs to the present).
Example 2: Lets say you want to search, in Texas, for all Dry holes that have been plugged. You can choose a status of Dry Hole. Note, this will find only wells that HAVE ALREADY BEEN PLUGGED. It does not find wells that are simply Intent-To-plug because the status would not be, at the time of Intent, DRY.
Important Notes about Well Status and Plugging Data
There is an important relationship between plugging data and Well Status (and sometimes Well Type). The relationship is best explained with a table of examples:

Note that the status doesn't change when an Intent is filed. Only a Plugging Report changes the status.
