Why Do I Get No Results For a Production Search?

Here are the top reasons your search returned no data:

1) It is a new well and the API is not associated to a lease.

2) Name is not exactly like you expected.  (Note – Try using the wildcard character, the percentage sign ‘%’, before the text string to match names that contain the string.) See Searching by Name

3) You put in a First Production Date.  If the well didn't start producing then, it isn't returned.

For a new well, the API is not associated to a lease

Generally speaking, there may not be an association between a producing lease and a well (API) until a completion is filed.  In Texas, for example, a completion can be filed up to 90 days after the physical completion of the well.  However, the well may start producing before that.  If this is the case, you cannot search by API or defined area.  You must search by operator (name or number) or lease (name or number) to find the well.
